Netanyahu honours Flydubai passengers who subdued co-pilot, says they will light Independence Day torch

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu honored passengers who intervened during the flydubai flight incident in a meeting. Passengers recounted how they restrained the co-pilot after he attacked Captain Smit Machchhar, which prevented a potential disaster. The flight was diverted and landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after the attack. Investigations revealed that the co-pilot underwent radical Islamist indoctrination and appeared suicidal.
