Mayawati demands return to ballot papers, says EVMs undermine trust in elections

Mayawati has urged the immediate cessation of electronic voting machines in elections and the reinstatement of ballot papers. She expressed concerns that doubts surrounding EVMs diminish public trust in the electoral process. According to her, the Constitution assigns the responsibility of conducting elections to the Election Commission. Furthermore, she highlighted the importance of ensuring that every individual's vote is accurately counted.
