Mamata camp unveils new logo with football symbol as TMC identity battle deepens

The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC faction has unveiled a new logo featuring its interim football-player election symbol after the Election Commission froze the partys original name and flowers-and-grass symbol amid an internal dispute. With the October 6 bypolls approaching, the faction is working to familiarise voters with its new identity, while the Supreme Court considers Banerjees challenge to the ECs decision. Rejinagar will see the rival factions face off under separate names and symbols, while the Mamata camp has backed a Congress candidate in Nandigram.
