Jail inmates will leave prison to work outside in the morning and return by evening to support their families; Jharkhand starts open jail reform

Jharkhand will allow selected jail inmates to leave prison in the morning, work outside and return by evening under a new open and semi-open barrack system. Eligible prisoners can earn a livelihood and support their families while continuing their sentences, with good conduct among the key conditions for participation.
