India introduces Bill to tighten delayed birth and death registration rules

The Lok Sabha recently saw the introduction of a pivotal Bill focused on enhancing the regulations for the registration of births and deaths. This initiative aims to urge citizens to report these vital events without delay. Instances of registration lagging by one to two years will require a magistrate's consent, while delays surpassing two years will necessitate directives from a judicial magistrate.
