India and Qatar accelerate talks on Bilateral Investment Treaty and Free Trade Agreement amidst USD 10 billion investment

India and Qatar have agreed to accelerate discussions on a Bilateral Investment Treaty and Free Trade Agreement. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Qatars Minister of State for Foreign Trade reviewed investment opportunities in key sectors. Both nations aim to implement a USD 10 billion Qatari investment commitment and establish a QIA office in India. Sitharaman also emphasized the need for normal trade flows in the Gulf region.
