In 2016, Reese Witherspoon launched a company after Hollywood said female-led films did not sell; five years later, Hello Sunshine was bought for $900 million

Reese Witherspoons career expanded from acting into producing and media entrepreneurship after she became increasingly concerned about limited opportunities for women in Hollywood. Her experiences with female-led projects encouraged her to create more opportunities both onscreen and behind the scenes. She developed a production company and later launched Hello Sunshine, a multimedia company focused on womens stories and storytellers.
