Kerala, India's fastest-ageing state, is emerging as a blueprint for tackling the country's ageing population and elderly care challenges. With low fertility, rising life expectancy and migration reshaping families, the state is introducing dedicated elderly welfare policies, geriatric healthcare, caregiver training and senior living models that could shape India's response to a projected 230 million elderly population by 2036.
