Indian entrepreneur Saran Shanmugam recalled spending two months in Bali, with the second month devoted entirely to a slow beachside routine. His days featured morning beach walks, yoga, healthy meals, massages, scooter rides, gym sessions, drinks, dinner and late-night gelato. Repeating the same schedule daily, he said the experience felt less like a vacation and more like life being paused.
