Former civil servants, activists seek CEC's resignation; issue 'people's impeachment' notice

A coalition of former civil servants and human rights activists has formally called for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing serious allegations about the Election Commission's integrity and operations. The group faced obstruction while attempting to deliver their notice, despite their peaceful motives, and they expressed concerns that recent reforms have jeopardized voters' rights and led to widespread disenfranchisement, highlighting urgent issues surrounding Indian electoral democracy.
