Diesel prices are hitting record highs at a bad time for many US farmers

Record diesel prices are squeezing US farmers as they harvest corn and soybeans, adding to higher fertiliser, seed and equipment costs. The national average reached $6.05 a gallon on Friday, up 60% since late February. Farmers say rising fuel expenses are eroding already tight margins and forcing them to delay work.
