China's traffic robot cops cannot fine or arrest violators but issue polite warnings instead, and are built to work through rush hour, poor weather and extreme heat without a break. Since May, 15 such robots deployed in Hangzhou have issued over 170,000 warnings and helped cut helmetless riding and stop-line violations by more than 40 per cent, according to their developer.
