Cauvery water: SC asks Karnataka to respond to Tamil Nadu's plea alleging shortfall

The Supreme Court on Thursday sought Karnatakas response to Tamil Nadus plea alleging a 20 TMC shortfall in Cauvery water releases. Tamil Nadu said it had already lost its early Kharif crop due to inadequate water, while Karnataka cited a severe drought and said it was complying with Cauvery authority directions.
