CRPF appoints IPS officer Sanjukta Parasor as the first female Inspector General of CoBRA unit

Sanjukta Parasor becomes the first woman to lead CRPF's elite CoBRA commando unit. She is a 2006-batch IPS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. The CoBRA unit was established to combat Left Wing Extremism and insurgency. Commandos have been credited with successful jungle warfare operations against Naxals. V K Birdi also takes charge as IG of CRPF VIP security wing.
