BCCI revises pay structure for umpires, introduces promotion-relegation system

BCCI has substantially enhanced daily pay for umpires and match referees. A new promotion-relegation system based on merit will now be implemented. Umpires will be assessed and assigned matches according to their performance levels. This move aims to improve umpire competence and ultimately benefit the game. The IPL is also expected to commence at the end of March 2027.
