Lok Sabha clears stricter anti-paper leak bill

The Lok Sabha passed the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, introducing stricter penalties of up to 10 years' imprisonment and a Rs 50 lakh fine for paper leak offences. The bill was approved amid opposition sloganeering, with the Centre saying 52 FIRs have been registered under the law since 2024.
