Dozens of hardware IDs have been added to Apple

Macworld At tomorrows Surprise and Shine event, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max , iPhone Ultra (or whatever Apple calls its first folding iPhone), the Apple Watch Series 12 , and the Apple Watch Ultra 4. Other products that might make an appearance include new AirPods, HomePod mini, and Apple TV 4K. So its a big event. And Apple is geting ready. According to a social media post by Aaron Perris , dozens of hardware product identifiers have been found on Apples services backend. This is the list: iPhone19,1 iPhone19,2 iPhone19,3 iPhone19,4 iPhone19,5 iPhone19,6 iPhone19,7 Mac17,10 Mac17,11 Mac17,12 Mac17,13 Mac18,1 Mac18,2 Mac18,6 Mac18,7 Mac19,1 iPad18,1 iPad18,2 iPad19,1 iPad19,2 iPad19,3 iPad19,4 iPad19,5 iPad19,6 Watch8,1 Watch8,2 Watch8,3 Watch8,4 Watch8,5 Watch8,6 Watch8,7 Watch8,8 Watch8,9 AppleTV18,1 HomeAccessory17,1 HomeAccessory17,2 HomeAccessory17,3 By and large these are all devices we expect to see from Apple within the next few months, but not necessarily at the Surprise and Shine event on September 9. For starters, were not expecting any Macs this week. Apple adds hardware IDs to identify any specific variant of a product to its services. That means iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max both get different identifiers, and there are often separate versions for regional cellular differences. iPads of each different size get their own IDs. Same with Apple Watch: Apple has different IDs for different sizes, with and without cellular, and sometimes different materials (like the rumored ceramic option). The interesting thing here is that there are seven iPhones listed, when we would expect to see six: US and international regional variants for the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra. If there were another iPhone model on the way soon, such as the iPhone Air 2, it should have two identifiers. Its likely the seventh is just another variant of one of the three expected models, perhaps to meet the technical needs of a specific market, but without any outwardly obvious difference in specs. HomeAccessory listings are interesting, too. HomePods have carried the ID AudioAccessory in the past. Either that has changed with the new HomePod mini, or this is the listing for the rumored Home Hub device. And if thats true, wheres the AudioAccessory listings for the new HomePod mini? At the end of the day, this list doesnt really tell us all that much. It includes both products that are expected soon but not necessarily at this weeks event, and also does not includes other products that are expected soon, like AirPods or HomePod mini. At any rate, well know a bit more about Apples plans in just a few hours.
