Truecaller faces tighter spam-tagging rules as TRAI wants spam reports shared; company labels move 'anti-competitive'

TRAI has tightened anti-spam rules by adding AI-based detection and requiring telecom operators to share suspected spam-number data. Caller ID apps must share spam reports via the DLT platform, while A2P calls require prior declaration and may face termination charges of up to 5 paise/minute.
