Kolkata hotel fire: Nine died of suffocation, initial findings show

Nine people, including two women and a child, died in a fire at a hotel building on Mirza Ghalib Street in Central Kolkata early Wednesday. Initial findings by police and the West Bengal Fire Services Department suggest the victims died from suffocation rather than burn injuries, with thick smoke and narrow exits hampering evacuation
