Sugar Industry, Co-generation, and Distillery Promotion Policy: another booster toindustry in UP

The sugar policy of Uttar Pradesh has catalyzed a remarkable rise in ethanol production, with outputs soaring from 42 crore litres to an impressive 175 crore litres. Co-generation using bagasse has surpassed 1,000 MW, providing extra electricity. This shift towards ethanol not only boosts mill revenues but also enhances farmer compensation, positioning the state as a leader in both ethanol output and renewable energy in India.
