India weighs mandatory blending of imported coal at power plants, sources say

India is considering asking thermal power plants to blend up to 5% imported coal with domestic coal to ease a supply crunch that has pushed spot power prices to their highest monthly level since 2022. The proposal, still at an early stage, would reverse the governments push over the past two years to cut coal imports.
