India remains net importer of finished steel in Apr-Aug; buys commodity worth Rs 36k crore

India imported finished steel worth Rs 36,193.9 crore from April to August in the fiscal year. The country saw a 29.5 percent increase in finished steel imports during this period compared to the previous year. In August alone, India imported 0.72 million tonnes of finished steel worth Rs 7,863.1 crore, which was a nine percent rise.
