India's 100 household savings puzzle: 33 goes to banks, while 39 flows to pension funds and markets

Indias household savings are shifting beyond bank deposits. Their share fell to 33% in FY25, while pension funds, mutual funds, shares and debentures together reached 39%. Yet 68% of household wealth remains in physical assets, highlighting the long runway for financialisation.
