Mines Ministry to launch incentive scheme for domestic lithium, nickel processing

The Mines Ministry will soon launch an incentive scheme to promote domestic processing of lithium and nickel as India seeks to build an integrated critical mineral value chain and reduce dependence on imported processed materials. The government has also cleared critical mineral processing parks in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, while flagging concerns over auctioned mining blocks that remain idle despite securing clearances and leases.
