The new HomePad interface could look a lot like the Apple Watch

Macworld It turns out that the macOS 26.7 release candidate is a treasure trove of leaks for upcoming Apple products. As we previously reported, its full of references to new model numbers , and it has a video of the upcoming AirPods with cameras. And now been discovered that it contains information about the home hub thats long been rumored. Apple is reportedly developing a new device that is referred to as HomeAccessory in the macOS 26.7 release candidate, according to a report by Filipe Esposito over at Engadget. This new device is likely the rumored HomePod with a display thats supposed to act as a central control point for a smart homea home hub, as its been called. Eposito states that the home hub will run a variant of tvOS, but the interface will be quite different. According to the code, the home hubs UI will feature Faces and a Face Gallery, which sounds like it will be similar to the watchOS UI. Separately, MacRumors reports that macOS 26.7 has mentions of a Widget Gallery with strings to a product with a model number of J490, which has been identified as that of the home hub. Esposito stated that the new device will be able to sense when an iPhone is nearby to display ifnormation form that iPhone in the hubs widgets, with iPhone widgets displayed on the hub. MacRumors also reports that the home hub will support Smart Stacks, which is a feature on the Apple Watch for presenting widgets. The masOC 26.7 RC also includes references to a rumored tabletop robot , but its not expected to be released anytime soon. Apple is also working on updates to the HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K , which are expected to arrive later this year.
