First glimpses of Siri AI in French, Spanish, and other new languages appear

Macworld Siri AI has arrived, and the general public can finally join the waiting list and enjoy the upgraded voice assistants improved features and accuracy. Provided their device is set to English, that is. When Siri AI was first announced, Apple explained that it would initially be available in English only, but the latest beta has indicated that a batch of further languages will be added next month. Specifically, speakers of French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish will get access to Siri AI in October. Such promises dont always come true, but weve already had our first glimpse of the new languages. As spotted by MacRumors , theyre present in the iOS 27.2 beta, well in advance of the self-imposed deadline. Theres no hard and fast rule covering the time it takes an iOS update to move from beta to public release, but it shouldnt be too much of a challenge for Apple to roll out iOS 27.2 within the next 44 days. So the inclusion of the new languages offers a clue about when the update will appear. The iPhone Duo, which will be running iOS 27.1 at launch, launches on October 23, another possible clue to the timing. Apple hasnt offered any comment on when further languages will be added to Siri AI. But its likely that Mandarin and Cantonese arent a high priority at the moment, because Siri AI isnt launching in mainland China, at least for the time being, for legal/regulatory reasons.
