US military hits 3 Iranian oil tankers after saying Navy warships were targeted with missiles

US Navy warships evaded Iranian missile attacks and struck three oil tankers. Two Iranian oil carriers were permanently disabled by the military action. The third unladen tanker was also destroyed in the engagement. This action followed Iran's accusation of a US attack on one tanker. The US stated the tankers funded Iran's Revolutionary Guard network.
