Trump said he would campaign in midterm battlegrounds. He's starting in deep red states instead

President Donald Trump, who pledged to campaign in 35 competitive battleground races ahead of the November midterms, will instead open October with rallies in Alabama and Oklahoma. The Republican National Committee says the events can reach voters across state lines and media markets, while Republicans seek to mobilise turnout.
