Seoul used 1 daylighted buried stream to solve urban heat issues across 10km of concrete highway; the result transformed an asphalt corridor into a cool public park

Seoul once buried a stream beneath a major highway, turning a natural waterway into a corridor of concrete and traffic. Years later, the city reversed that decision. The highway came down, the Cheonggyecheon stream was restored, and the space became a long public green corridor. The surprising part was not only the new park. The restored water and vegetation also helped lower temperatures around the urban corridor.
