Tim Sweeney, the founder of Epic Games, has quietly acquired over fifty thousand acres of North Carolina land. He began purchasing vulnerable forests around 2009 when land prices were lower. Sweeney has also donated thousands of acres to conservation organizations for protection. His land holdings are managed through several limited liability companies across fifteen counties. The billionaire now focuses on permanently protecting his existing properties.
