Pete Hegseth creates Pentagon Office of Religious Affairs reporting directly to him

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is establishing a new Office of Religious Affairs to provide religious support. The office will report directly to him and support military chaplains. Critics have raised concerns about the potential elevation of Christianity in military policy. Hegseth aims to focus chaplains on spiritual care rather than therapeutic practices. The military has faced increased demands on chaplains due to mental health issues among troops.
