In the summer of 2011, a groundbreaking building in Las Vegas experimented with roof pond cooling. Results indicated that wet roof ponds effectively lowered peak indoor temperatures when compared to their dry counterparts. Nonetheless, neither method succeeded in ensuring comfort during extreme heat. Other studies reaffirmed that roof ponds could maintain indoor temperatures lower than those outdoors. Integrating insulation and fans could further enhance comfort levels.
