New York City transformed a former landfill into Brookfield Park. This extensive project involved capping and remediating the site for public use. Over two million tons of clean soil were spread across an impermeable barrier. The park now features meadows, wetlands, woodlands, and walking trails. Community participation guided the transformation of this former waste facility.
