According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's success story, U.S. Geological Survey streamflow data showed that three of the five years following completion of the project experienced peak flows above 500 cubic feet per secondthe level identified in the earlier feasibility study as exceeding the capacity of the underground stream and pipe.
