A polar bear rib led to the discovery of an ancient Arctic animal community. Researchers examined over six thousand bone fragments using DNA and dating methods. The findings revealed diverse species from a mild period of the last glacial era. This vanished ecosystem included polar bears, walruses, and a lemming new to Scandinavia.
