A parasitic fungus, Entomophthora muscae, infects flies and manipulates their behavior. This fungus drives infected insects to high points before they die and release spores. Scientists are investigating how this fungus controls fly brains and influences their actions. The fungus also releases chemicals that attract other insects to infected carcasses.
