Bangladesh's ruling BNP authorises PM Rahman to finalise Presidential candidate

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party has authorized Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to select their presidential nominee. This significant decision was made during a National Standing Committee meeting on Saturday. The party chairman will determine the candidate after the election schedule is announced. Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad is currently serving as the acting president of Bangladesh. The presidential election must be held within ninety days of the vacancy.
