Australia to seek UN security council seat from 2029

Australia will seek a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced this bid for the 2029 term. He expects strong support from Pacific and Southeast Asian nations. Australia last served on the council ending in 2014. Finland is also a nominee for the same council position.
