If your iPhone calls suddenly end, this will fix it

Macworld Im sure this has happened to you too: Youre in the middle of a call on your iPhone and suddenly the call ends. Neither you nor the person youre speaking to has hung upat least, thats what you think. Chances are that you accidentally pressed the side button on your iPhone. This can easily happen when youre holding your phone in your hand while having a conversation. The problem is that, since iOS 16, the side button has ended calls by default, and iOS 27 wont change this behavior, either. Its both handy and annoying! To stop this from happening accidentally, youll need to adjust this setting. How to stop accidentally hanging up The relevant option is hidden deep within the Settings and isnt where you might first look for it To ensure a call isnt ended by locking your iPhone using the side button, follow these steps: Open Settings. Tap Accessibility . Under Physical and Motor , select Touch . Enable Prevent Lock to End Calls . Thats it, youve successfully prevented the side button from ending calls. Now, if you press the physical button on the side of your iPhone whilse on a call, it will simply turn off the screen but wont automatically end the call. Foundry
