Vedanta names Arun Misra as CEO, Q1 profit jumps
Vedanta appointed Arun Misra as chief executive officer for a one-year term. The company reported a 72% jump in first-quarter profit, reaching 54.73 billion rupees. Higher base metal prices, including zinc and copper, significantly boosted the company's earnings. Vedanta's revenue increased by 51% to 234.56 billion rupees during the quarter. The firm's net profit margins expanded to 22% from 12% a year earlier.
