Rs 22,006 crore claims, Rs 6.5 crore payout: NCLT clears Subhash Chandra plan

The insolvency tribunal NCLT approved Subhash Chandra's repayment plan. Lenders will receive only Rs 6.5 crore against Rs 22,006.57 crore claims. This represents a nearly 99.97 per cent haircut for the financial institutions. The tribunal rejected objections from dissenting creditors regarding the meagre payout. The approved plan is now binding on all creditors as per the IBC.
