'No proposal to change or replace Unified Pension Scheme,' says Finance Minister Sitharaman in Lok Sabha

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed no changes are planned for the Unified Pension Scheme. This scheme offers assured monthly payouts to Central government employees after retirement. The Unified Pension Scheme was introduced as an option under the National Pension System. It aims to provide adequate retirement benefits and pension predictability for employees. The government has also extended tax benefits and a one-way switch facility to UPS.
