India may need over Rs 4 lakh crore investment in energy storage by FY32: Report

India's transition to renewable energy is expected to demand significant investments in energy storage solutions. By FY32, approximately Rs 4 lakh crore will be needed to meet storage requirements. The current operational storage capacity of 54 GWh will need to expand to 411 GWh. Increasing renewable generation will require complementary technologies like Battery Energy Storage Systems and Pumped Storage Plants.
