In 2010, Alaska Clean Harbors launched a statewide effort to curb harbor pollution. 15 years later, 11 harbors were engaged in the program, helping protect coastal waters

Alaska Clean Harbors works with communities to prevent pollution and reduce waste. Four harbors achieved certification, and three are working towards it by November 2025. The program offers free technical assistance and resources to participating harbor staff. Best management practices are implemented to protect water quality and reduce waste. Future grants will continue this important work through 2027.
