In 1944, a routine school morning in the English village of Freckleton turned into a devastating tragedy when a US B-24 Liberator bomber lost control during a storm and crashed into Holy Trinity School. The disaster killed 61 people, including 38 children, leaving a small wartime community struggling with an enormous loss.
