Three Texas islands, once flourishing habitats for diverse bird species, have vanished due to natural erosion and subsidence. However, a significant restoration initiative has brought these nesting areas in Dickinson Bay, attracting thousands of colonial waterbirds to the revitalised Dickinson Bay Island II. Additionally, this project installed oyster reefs and protective structures, showcasing the potential to reverse ecological decline.
