Forgetting the names of people you just met? Psychology says it may not mean you have a bad memory

Names can be tricky for our brains to learn and remember effectively, as they usually dont have intrinsic meaning and act merely as arbitrary tags. This often results in remembering other characteristics of a person while the actual name slips away. Research indicates that pausing briefly after hearing a name can enhance memory retention.
