Economists see food, oil stoking Indias September inflation

India's consumer inflation is anticipated to rise as energy costs increased significantly during September. Brent crude surpassed $100 a barrel, contributing to higher inflation alongside rising food prices. The Reserve Bank of India raised its key repo rate for the first time in nearly four years to combat inflation. Economists predict consumer inflation reached 5.40%, marking four consecutive months above the RBI's target.
