Centre releases additional Rs 1,09,019 crore tax devolution to states to boost capital spending

The Union government released an additional Rs 1,09,019 crore tax devolution on August 1, 2026. This amount is separate from the scheduled monthly devolution for August. The move aims to strengthen state finances and boost developmental expenditure. Uttar Pradesh received the largest share of this additional fund. Other states like Bihar and Madhya Pradesh also received significant allocations.
