Cabinet allocates over Rs 18,600 crore for India's first underwater twin tube tunnel in Assam ahead of polls

Assam underwater tunnel news: India's first underwater twin tube railway project has received Union Cabinet approval. This new project will connect Gohpur and Numaligarh in Assam. It will significantly reduce the travel distance from 240 km to just 34 km. Travel time will be cut by 95%, from six hours to twenty minutes. This development is set to boost connectivity in the region.
